Tax Manager in the Edmonton office of a national chartered accounting firm.
From 1985 to 1988, he specialized in the practice of income taxation, including the office's international tax engagements. He continues
to act as our firm's income tax and Goods and Services Tax resource, serving owner managed enterprises and U.S. and Canadian taxpayers with cross border tax issues. He specializes in corporate reorganizations to achieve financial succession objectives.
His audit experience ranges from medium-sized businesses to employee benefit
trust funds to corporations reporting to the Alberta Securities Commission.
His varied professional experiences provide the basis for providing proactive, practical tax and business advice for his clients.
Alfred H. Lee, CGA, CMA, CA, CFP
Mr. Alfred Lee completed his studies in Hong Kong and received his audit training there from two of the biggest international accounting firms. After arriving in Canada in late 1988, Mr. Lee continued his accounting career with a local Edmonton chartered accounting firm where he received his first Canadian accounting designation, "Certified General Accountant", in 1991.
Mr. Lee joined Donnelly & Co. LLP as a manager in 1997 and became an associate in 1999. Over the years, he added various designations to his name, including "Chartered Accountant" in 2007. Upon obtaining this latest designation, Mr. Lee was admitted into the partnership of our firm in 2008.
Although his experience covered auditing of large and medium sized businesses, employee benefit trust funds and not-for-profit organizations, the majority of his experience comes from dealing with owner-managers. Accordingly, his focus is on providing "full service" to his clients from statutory filing requirements to integrated personal and corporate financial planning, including the structuring of corporate re-organizations and estate or business succession plans.
